Artifact: Action Plan
Reflection:
This artifact is an action and evaluation plan for goals of a shared vision created for NHHS. The plan includes evaluation methods, success indicators, strategies, timelines, funding sources, and responsible person. This is an important tool for evaluating the progress that we are making toward goals in the shared vision. This also serves as a central location for strategies planned strategies. The format of this artifact makes it easy for observers to see information that goes with each strategy. After creating the shared vision, I created this artifact as a guide for staying focused on our goals.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of standard 5.3. The standard states that I can design and implement program evaluations to determine the overall effectiveness of professional learning on deepening teacher content knowledge, improving teacher pedagogical skills and/or increasing student learning. I designed this artifact in order to assist leaders as we work towards the goals of the shared vision. This plan provides a detailed plan for evaluating the effectiveness of the shared vision when implementation takes place. The evaluation will provide strategies for evaluating the pedagogical skills of all faculty. Strengths and weaknesses will be highlighted by the evaluation. Based on this evaluation, additional professional learning will be provided. As this plan helps increase specific weaknesses, student learning will increase
Through creating this artifact, I feel that I have learned much more about evaluating progress toward meeting goals. This experience has made me more confident in developing a plan for evaluating professional learning throughout a school. I am able to identify strategies for supporting school goals. This experience has also helped me to understand realistic timeframes for completion for goals. I have a better understanding of budgeting and funding sources. If I could change anything about this experience, I would move up the implementation date. It would have been nice to start working towards these goals sooner than next school year.
The work that went into this artifact impacts school improvement, faculty development and student learning. As we work to reach these goals, we are going to identify strengths and weaknesses that are present. Identifying these weaknesses are going to provide areas for growth. Reaching these goals will increase faculty development. Anytime you improve student learning and develop the faculty I feel that the school is improving. This impact can be assessed through benchmark assessments, state tests, and classroom walkthroughs.
